Closing in on June and there is so much to be done. Jeffy has been working hard in Edmonton putting in overtime and looking for a place for us to live. Its been frustrating for him since he's never "house-hunted" before. I have always been the one to find a place to live. We found a great townhouse in a really nice neighborhood but by the time we had put in our application it was gone. It would have been nice to have this part of the process complete but, alas, it was not meant to be. He'll be looking at a bunch of places this weekend as all the new properties come available at month-end. Since I'll be starting a day care we will be needing a finished basement and a nice fenced backyard. There is actually lots available but not all are that nice.
Annabel and I are doing ok but missing Jeff terribly. The phone calls a few times a day are just not cutting it anymore. We looked into getting a flight for Jeff to come home for a weekend but the cheapest tickets we could find were $500 once all the fees were added on--and that's on SALE!! When you are saving for an expensive move that is just not an affordable purchase. As of today there are 29 days left before he's home to help pack the moving truck. Looking ahead to that!
Packing is a bit of a headache (and back ache!) but its good to go through things and throw out the trash. i love the purge! I'd love to post pictures of the chaos but I doubt anyone would find it very interesting. My landlord is planning to start showing this place over the next couple of days so I'm trying to make sure there is space to walk around and look. I'll be very glad when its all over. Hopefully then I will have something truly interesting to write about.
Back to packing!!

Big change is coming....
Well I decided to join the masses and create my very own blog so you can all a share in the agony of our big move to Alberta.
Jeff is now living in Edmonton with his buddy, Troy (thanks, Buddy-Troy!!) so he can get things ready for Annabel and I to come up in a few short weeks. He interviewed with a few companies on Monday and made a decision to work for Effix Interiors--he started today and texted me at coffee to say that he thinks he made the right choice! Woo hoo! That's one stressor down!
Next he has the task of finding us a home. There are a few places that we've been looking at online and one place that he found right next door to Troy's house. I've got my fingers crossed for the house next to Troy's. It sounds good AND the rent is awesome! We'll hopefully know more about it tonight.
In the meantime, Annabel and I are doing ok on our own. There is lots to do around here. I've been packing a bit at a time and cleaning as I go. It has opened my eyes to how way to big this place is for us. Too many places to tuck stuff away, which results in too much junk! The dump has become my favorite hang out lately since i've been purging from each room. My brother, Steve, has agreed to let me load up his truck with junk and make another run. I'm sure there will be at least 3 more.
Still need to finish the tile in the kitchen and do some touch up paint here and there but other than that, I think things are moving along quite well.
I miss Jeff terribly but I know time will pass very quickly. There are only 6-1/2 weeks till we make the move....really not that long from now.
